ShipMonk.com - the fraud company?

I'll start with where ShipMonk.com is good - quick response in communication, support responds quickly. The app is clear and functional. Thus, what a potential customer interferes with first is a positive. We were impressed by this and decided to go with ShipMonk despite the higher prices compared to the competition. Unfortunately.

Now the negatives. If you don't have a strong stomach and don't believe it's possible, don't even read any further. Unfortunately, all of the above happened to us. And it cost us about $5,000.

1, loss/theft of goods

During about 3 months of cooperation we lost 38 pieces of goods. At the beginning we were compensated for some items, then not anymore - with the reasoning that it was a normal loss.

What's also terrible is that although ShipMonk will detect the loss, they won't let you know. So you offer the goods to the customer, and when you have an order for the goods, you suddenly find out that there is nothing in the warehouse. Or there is, you place the order, and the next day you find out ShipMonk didn't find the item, put the order on Backorder, and again, didn't tell you anything.

We also lost one SKU of several pieces. We found out on November 4th. After escalation, the item was found on November 12. Approximately 3 weeks later, when we stopped working together, it was lost again ...

2, fraudulent storage costs

We have small goods. In all calculations and communications, we have discussed with both the ShipMonk representative and the warehouse representative on the online call (where they were shown the goods) that we will be using the Small Bin. But the reality is that they don't have enough of these Small Bins, so they put our goods in the XXL Bin, where storage costs are 4x higher!!!

So you pay 4 times the storage cost - and since they have a condition that the Pick and Pack must be greater than the storage cost, in a weaker month you pay a "penalty" and in fact we paid 6 times more!!!

Unfortunately, they have settled it in the contract by a clause that they will put your goods in appropriate boxes according to different conditions, so you have no chance to call for anything.

Based on this, we decided to end the cooperation, and now the mess has started.

3, dispatch confusion

We had agreed that the goods would be packed by SKU (this is a classic requirement for receiving goods both at ShipMonk and elsewhere). Furthermore, a list of goods for the new warehouse was to be included with the shipment, everything was specified. Result - they shipped it as it came to them, and did not include the list of goods. Thus, at the new warehouse, you pay hundreds of dollars for sorting the goods and a penalty for not attaching the goods list.

This happened repeatedly for all shipments, it was not an isolated omission.

4, new lost goods

During the dispatch process, additional missing goods were discovered and more than 150 items did not arrive at the new warehouse.

Given the experience of loss-making, non-compliance with agreements and confusion, I am convinced that the loss occurred on Shipmonk's side.

5, disposal of unknown items

After shipping the goods, we found that we had a "Return to vendor" item. No one knew what the item was, when it was stocked, where it came from, but you are required to pay for its shipment or disposal.

Based on our experience, I recommend avoiding this company and not repeating our mistakes. I wouldn't have thought this could happen at all with such a large company.
So avoid ShipMonk in a big way and do not even consider entrusting your goods to them. Or make sure you have everything well covered in the contract and don't sign their standard contract.

I will gradually add more incredible things.
